How dinosaur eggs reproduce

The habits and behavior of dinosaurs laying eggs are somewhat similar to those of turtles. During the breeding season, turtles often go in groups to a favorable beach to build nests and lay eggs. After laying the eggs, dig out some sand and bury the eggs, allowing them to hatch naturally with the help of heat provided by sunlight. According to the relatively concentrated burial of dinosaur egg fossils, the egg fossils were produced in clutches, and the burial sites of egg fossils are generally located on the edge of ancient lake basins, it can be speculated that during the breeding season, dinosaurs also had the habit of gathering in groups to lay eggs. The egg-laying location is on the shore of lakes and swamps with lush plant growth. They do not seem to be strict about the texture of the lakes and swamps. Different dinosaurs lay eggs in different ways, and the eggs are arranged in different ways in the nest. For example, before laying eggs, dinosaurs that lay long eggs would first pile up a slightly raised roof with sand at a selected location, and then lay the eggs around them. All the eggs would be placed in pairs, forming a radiating pattern. After laying a layer of eggs, they bury some soil and then lay eggs, forming a nest of dozens of eggs, and finally cover them with some sand; while dinosaurs that lay round eggs, they first selected the eggs before laying them. Dig some egg nests at the location, lay the eggs in the nests, and bury them with some sand after laying the eggs. The eggs laid in this way are arranged irregularly in the nest or the eggs are relatively close together. Additionally, there may be other ways. As for whether the female dinosaur should stand aside to protect the eggs she laid after laying them, or whether she should sit in a nest and incubate the eggs like a hen, there is no conclusion yet. You see, the way dinosaurs lay eggs is so interesting.
Not only that, the microstructure of the eggshells of different dinosaur egg fossils is also different! According to research by paleontologists, the microstructure of dinosaur eggshells shows certain changes with changes in geological time; the size and density of stomata on eggshells are related to the dry and wet changes in the ancient climate. When the dinosaurs went extinct at the end of the Cretaceous, abnormal changes occurred in the eggshell structure. Therefore, in-depth study of the microstructure of dinosaur eggshells can provide us with valuable information on the evolution and classification of dinosaur eggs, paleoclimate changes, and the causes of dinosaur extinction.
