The Biggest Difference Between Dinosaurs And Other Reptiles

The biggest difference between dinosaurs and other reptiles is the way they stand and move. Dinosaurs have a completely upright posture with their limbs built directly underneath their bodies. This structure is more advantageous for walking and running than other types of reptiles, such as crocodiles, whose limbs extend outward. According to the different structural characteristics of dinosaur waists, they can be divided into two major categories: saurischians and ornithischians. The main difference between the two lies in their belt construction.
Most saurischians have a pubic bone that projects forward, while ornithischians have each pubic bone that slopes backward. In addition to the different hip structures, the two types of dinosaurs also have different life and behavioral characteristics. Sauurchians include the herbivorous sauropods, which walked on all fours, and the carnivorous theropods, which walked almost on two limbs.
The girdle of saurischians is three-shot when viewed from the side. The pubic bone extends forward under the intestinal bone and the ischium extends backward. This structure is similar to that of lizards.
In the ornithischian girdle, the intestinal bone is greatly expanded front and back. There is a large prepubic process on the front side of the pubic bone, which extends below the intestinal bone. The posterior side is greatly extended parallel to the ischium and extends to the front and lower side of the intestinal bone. Therefore, the pelvis is radial when viewed from the side (among other differences).
Sauropods mainly lived from the Late Triassic to the Cretaceous, and most of them were large vegetarian dinosaurs. The head is small, the neck is long, the tail is long, and the teeth are small spoon-shaped. The famous representative of the sauropods is Mamenchisaurus, which was produced in the Late Jurassic of Sichuan and Gansu, China. It consists of 19 cervical vertebrae and its neck length is about half of its body length. It is the largest land animal known in the world - Fragile. Amphelosaurus.
Theropods lived from the Late Triassic to the Cretaceous. Most of them are carnivorous, walk on two legs, have sharp claws on their toes, and have well-developed heads. They are the most intelligent ones. The mouth has sharp teeth like daggers or knives. Tyrannosaurus is a famous representative, and others such as Allosaurus, Giganotosaurus, Spinosaurus, etc. are also quite famous.
